Why the Long Face?

Soooooo, in the middle of the last weeks from hell.... So much work and just general anxiety-ness. But! Regardless, still able to have fun with this assignment. So here's my character expressions!

Also just spent an hour or 2 on my ball and tail animation. Got about 80 frames done, and most of the way there, for the ball part at least. Still need to put the tail in but I want to pencil test the ball part first. Also done my essay for english and almost done the presentation with Alicia, due week 13 for us, so I'm ahead of the game! Still gotta get my life drawings together for thursday, and start getting my bone portfolio done, but doing ok so far. Enjoy!

You Broke The Smolder...

For anyone who is even remotely interested in animation, films or art in general, GO SEE TANGLED NOW! Absolutely stunning film; great characters, gorgeous animation, amazing backgrounds and beautiful songs. The lantern sequence, scene at the end in Repunzal's tower (trying not to give spoilers) and the giant group hug at the end were amazing; absolutely breathtaking film. I'd go see it again right now if I could spare the time.

Painting - Totoro Background

Here's my background copy for painting class of a background from Totoro by Miyazaki. The scanner definately doesn't do justice to the actual painting. But enjoy nonetheless!

More Royal Winter Fair~

So here are my Royal Winter Fair studies! All of these took me about 10-15 minutes, so I'm fairly happy with them. The only thing I was kinda miffed about was the lack of horses available to draw; those of you that know me know how much my life revolves around horses :3 So yeah, other than that, I loved the fair-- was pretty amazing. And I made a little calf friend :3 He snuck up on me and licked me up the cheek while I was sketching another and so I pet him for a while, tried to leave and he wouldn't stop mooing at me to come back. So, me being such an animal suck, went back to him and cuddled with him for a half hour hehe. He was adorable! Enjoy the pictures!

Royal Winter Fair~

So on friday of last week, basically all of the animation students here at Sheridan went to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair to get some good 'ol sketching done. Was so great; wish I could've stayed longer to sketch, although I was there from 9-5, my body wasn't going to accept more time standing. Here are some of my gestures and studies from the Royal Winter Fair! Enjoy!

Blogspot's been a beyotch the last few days and won't let me upload pics :x Finally got my gestures up, and trying to get my studies; now off to english final exam!

The Most Beautiful Death In The World

So I decided, since this has been a huge part of my life recently, that I'd share this with you guys.
Not sure how many of you are anime watchers, but this is the 2nd musical based on the series called Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler). And I must say, they REALLY outdid themselves. The first musical was really well done as well, but this one is incredible. They really pushed the dark side of this series, which I'm glad they did because it really reflects what the anime themes are, and they really played with lighting a lot, in a good way; basically every scene had some sort of crazy lighting that enhanced it. The songs too.... I can't even give justice to them; they are stunning. Especially some of the sad/emotional songs, they give me shivers... I swear to god, I have never heard such amazing voices before, and this is live! It's incredible.

So here are some screenshots of this amazing production!

Poor Ciel's not having a good day...

So Ciel commands Sebastian to show Undertaker the meaning of "love". Only solution? To since a burlesque song of course!

Any of you who know this series know this is SO typically Grell it's amazingly hilarious... For those of you who don't, yes that is a grown man in woman's langerie hehe. One word: Sleepover!

Amazing song and scene, won't give anything away but one of my favourite parts.

My favourite part hands down... I can't even describe how absolutely breathtaking this one song is...
Gorgeous lighting and SNOW! for the last scene! :3

Ted and I :3

So my Toothless quadsuit friend got her fleece this week and is starting to work on skinning him. She decided she was going to make me a Kuriboh (from yugioh) plushie as a way to thank me for going out of my way to get the fleece for her (although I really didn't mind helping at all :x) She asked me what colour I'd like, if I wanted it to have wings etc etc. Throughout the process of her making him, we lovingly named him Ted, for a reason I can't say lol. So today, I finally got him! :D So, I present to you Ted!

Here are also my 6 character poses for Character Design Class. Meet Duke :3
